Rude Boy George @ Gramercy Theatre, NYC – 3.4.17
March 6, 2017 | Concert Photography
Rude Boy George played before Save Ferris at the Gramercy Theatre show in NYC on March 4th, 2017. It’s always a blast to take pictures of my buddies in RBG. I probably got my best photos of them to date at this show. Read the full review at ReadJunk.com!
The lighting was better for Rude Boy George and brighter, which is a good thing since the last time I saw them at Knitting Factory, the lighting was pretty shitty. I tried to get enough photos of each member, although it’s always getting shots of Pamela, Marc and Dave since they are in the back.
Megg and Roger are always fantastic people to photograph and very camera-friendly. Jackie was making faces every time I was pointing my camera at her so I had to snap those. Towards the end of the set, I got Roger doing some high jumping which he does from time to time. Jesse was jumping too but I couldn’t fit him into the shot.
For this set, I was shooting at ISO 4000 and 1/250 or a little lower. I used the 24-70 and 14-24 lenses as well. I was able to fit the entire band in one shot, thanks to that super wide angle lens. I love that thing for certain shots. I can’t use it all the time but it’s necessary for part of the 3 songs. Next month I’ll have more photo and maybe some video of the band when they play the ReadJunk 20th Anniversary party!
