Big D and the Kids Table @ Best Buy Theater, NYC – 6.27.12

Hey look at that, a ska show! Big D and the Kid’s Table were one of the openers for Reel Big Fish & Goldfinger. The show happened last night at Best Buy / [Insert Corporation here] Theater in New York City. I missed most of the set of Suburban Legends but got the chance to take some pictures of Big D.

I’ve shot Big D once or twice before so I knew they were a fun band to shoot. It’s tough to cover the entire band, especially a ska band since there’s a lot of members. I think I did a fair job. The lighting was dark at times, but decent enough when I shot around ISO 2000. I used the 24-70mm f2.8 lens in the photo pit and then when the 3 songs was done, I switched to the 70-200mm f2.8 lens in my seat. I love Best Buy Theater, especially the stadium seating in back. I can’t always get away with taking photos after the 3 songs but that night I could. I almost got the best photos from my seat using that lens.
