Sam Burchfield & The Scoundrels @ Rocking The Docks, Lewes, DE – 08.09.23

Sam Burchfield & The Scoundrels played Rocking the Docks in Lewes, Delaware on August 9th, 2023.

I liked taking pictures of this show since it was different from the other ones. The sunset stage definitely lived up to the name since there was a nice sunset and after glow from it. It was nice to be able to walk around the stage and get photos from the back. I still tried to stay out of people’s way the best I could. I shot video for this as well which was a lot of fun, it just wasn’t posted to this point. Right before the set, a Great Blue Heron was chilling on a post so of course I had to get photos of the bird.

Sam’s music was good and dug the Americana, folk rock vibe and the smaller stage setup was a nice fit with the music that night. I was joking with the crew that there should have been some old fashion lamps for the lighting that night. I know Carbon Leaf does that for their decor on stage.
