Game of Thrones Live Experience @ Prudential Center, Newark, NJ – 9.26.18
October 6, 2018 | Concert Photography
I saw the Game of Thrones concert last year but I didn’t shoot. So I got excited that it was coming around again because I wanted to shoot it if I could and I was able to do that this year so I didn’t want to pass that up. You can read my full review over at ReadJunk.com.
This was my first time shooting in an arena/soundboard shoot. I usually tend to avoid them because you can’t get up front for a lot of them but with this, you wanted to be a little further back. I wish we had more than 3 songs to do it since this show was a little bit different than you’re average concert. I used my 70-200mm f2.8 lens for the most part, but when violin player Molly Rogers gets raised up in the 3rd song, I was using my wide angle lenses for that.
Still, would have been nice to shoot longer and closer for some of it. I actually wish I got to shoot from my seat since the seats were so close and perfect for shooting. I didn’t want to risk getting thrown out because I wanted to see the rest of the concert since I’m a big fan of the score music from Game of Thrones and Ramin Djawadi.
