Stereophonics @ Irving Plaza, NYC – 9.5.17
September 8, 2017 | Concert Photography
Stereophonics played Irving Plaza on Tuesday night, September 5th, and it was awesome time. You can read my review of the show over at ReadJunk.com.
This was the third time seeing Stereophonics but the first time shooting their set! Kelly and the rest of the band were great showman and gave photographers a lot to work with. The lighting was a little better than usual for Irving Plaza, especially the third song when the back lighting had that array of lighting that looks great if you can position the performer in front of it.
For this set, I used the 24-70mm f2.8 for the most part but I did switch to the wide angle lens 14-24mm f2.8 for parts of the second song. I wish I had a good vantage point after the 3 songs so I could get Kelly playing piano but that didn’t happen. I had a good view up in the balcony by the end of the night but at that point, I was just enjoying the show.
I loved shooting Stereophonics and hopefully this won’t be the last time either!
