Subhumans @ Punk Rock Bowling, Stone Pony Summerstage, Asbury Park, NJ – 6.11.16

It’s been a long, long time since seeing Subhumans play. It might have been in 1998 at Coney Island High. I took photos of them back then but it’s currently not on the site since I have to re-scan the photos. Yeah, I shot that show with my film camera. I have seen Citizen Fish though, which is pretty much the same lineup give or take one or two members.

Frontman Dick was his usual self. Fast moving, screaming and fun to photograph. He’s hard to shoot sometimes because he’s always moving around a lot but I managed to get some good shots. During the set, the sun was really strong in the back. I thought Stone Pony would have put up a backdrop by now but they didn’t. It was a bit of a challenge but you got to find a way to work around things like that during shooting.
