Citizen Fish @ Shepherds Bush Empire, London UK – 11.24.12
December 2, 2012 | Concert Photography
Citizen Fish played before The Levellers last Saturday night at Shepherds Bush Empire, or whatever title it’s currently being called. I can’t remember the last time I saw Citizen Fish but it must have been 12 years in NYC (at Wetlands maybe?). Their set was everything I’d expect it to be, lots of energy and hard to get a clear shot of frontman Dick Lucas haha.
Read my longer review over at ReadJunk.com.
The lighting for this set wasn’t as bright as it was for Gaz Brookfield but that’s okay, I still managed to get some kick ass shots of Citizen Fish. I knew with shooting the Subhumans back in the 90s at Coney Island High, that Dick was a fast moving singer and that’s certainly the truth still. It was hard to get a shot of him in focus but I finally got the money shot of him with some smoke in the background. It ended up being one of my favorite shots of the show. I also got a bunch of great shots of Phil rocking on the guitar as well. Like the Levellers, wish I got a full band shot but oh well, the individual shots came out decent and I’m happy with these.
