Killswitch Engage @ Central Park SummerStage, NYC – 7.28.15
July 31, 2015 | Concert Photography
I love shooting metal bands! They give you jump shots, guitar poses, hair whips, and other things that makes an exciting & cool photo. Killswitch Engage played second before Rise Against, and you can read my full review over at ReadJunk.com.
Thankfully the sun was starting to set behind the trees so it wasn’t too hot. Also, it was nice to shoot 3 songs instead of one and half like Letlive’s set. Photographers were in the pit for awhile so that was nice since I got a lot of cool shots of Killswitch Engage. I shot them awhile back for the Vans Warped Tour and knew they were a fun band to shoot but this time was even better. The singer Jesse has some ups, and captured him a few times jumping pretty high. I had to make a gif of one of the series of photos I got because everything is better in gif form!
For this set, I shot mainly with the 24-70mm f2.8 lens. It would have been nice to break out the 14-24mm f2.8 lens but you never know if the band is going to stay back from the stage or be up front. So I just decided to stick with my main concert lens.
