Blood or Whiskey @ Irving Plaza, NYC – 3.9.15

I’ve been a fan of Blood or Whiskey for over a decade now so it was nice to finally see the Irish band live & shoot their set. Read my review of the show at ReadJunk.com.

I don’t know what is it with Irving Plaza’s lighting but it works out well sometimes and then it’s complete shit another song. I don’t mind the colors they use but wish they would add some white front lighting to counter-act the ugliness of the back lighting. For the first song, it was just green. Then it was blue, then red & green which was just awful. You either have a lot of adjusting to do to make the photos usable or turn them black & white.

I loved seeing Blood or Whiskey and wish I had more songs to shoot of their set. They were a fun band to take pictures of. I used 24-70 for some songs and then 14-24mm for others. After the 3rd song, I watch the set from the VIP area of Irving Plaza and snapped a few pictures from there as well.
