Rise Against @ Best Buy Theater, NYC – 9.26.14

Believe it or not, I never photographed Rise Against. At least I don’t think so unless it was at Warped Tour or something. I’ve been a fan of the band since 2003 but can’t believe I’ve only seen them once, which was back in 2004. Whatever the reason, I was a fool. These guys put on a hell of a show and were a blast to photograph!

The lighting for their set was excellent, which would have been tough to shoot them if it wasn’t since they move around a lot. They had ego risers and would pose on them and jump off. I managed to get Zach jumping and even though it’s not totally sharp, it still looks cool in an abstract kind of way. Tim went into the crowd for one song and the lighting was almost too bright for that. I had to dial it down a bit in post production since I was just snapping away. After the 3 songs, I sat in the stadium seats and enjoyed the show. I took a couple of shots from my seat with my telephoto lens.

Next time Rise Against comes to town, I have to go out and see them again. They put on such a good show!
