Beach Haven, Long Beach Island, NJ – 6.16.14 – 6.18.14
June 23, 2014 | Travel Photography
Took a few days off work to visit my usual beach spot, Long Beach Island on the Jersey Shore. My wife and I lucked out with great weather and managed to see some awesome sunsets as well.
I stayed in Beach Haven part of LBI, but I usually stay with relatives in Holgate. The area was a bit quiet at night still, since I don’t think things pick up until Fourth of July. Fantasy Island wasn’t really open except the arcade, so we took advantage of goofing around there as well. The first night I took sunset photos right in Bay Village, the second night was down the road from there by some ships like “The Black Pearl.”
Third night I drove up to Barnegat to get sunset shots up at the lighthouse. It was cool to take pictures of the lighthouse with the sunset, which I never did all my life of going to LBI. I just didn’t know the lighthouse was open during sunset time. Only negative about shooting up there was getting eaten alive by mosquitos and other bugs. I shot some video but not sure if I’m going to make a video of it yet. I have to review the footage and see if its worth while. Other than that, it was just nice to get away and relax for a change instead of running around all vacation.
