Butcher Knives @ Knitting Factory, Brooklyn, NY – 5.17.14
May 21, 2014 | Concert Photography
Every now and then I run across a band that was just a blast to photograph and Butcher Knives were one of those bands. They are an awesome live band and performers and if anyone gets a chance to photograph their set, do it!
Read my full review of the show over at ReadJunk.com. For whatever reason, the lighting was the best for their set which made things a little easier for me. The band was really active so getting them all blurry, these photos wouldn’t have been the same. The photos are grainy but what do you expect when you’re shooting at ISO 4000 and higher.
The singer was standing on mic stands, playing the drum, jumping around. The bassist was standing on his bass, going into the crowd, the banjo player was going into the crowd and headbanging. They were just a lot of fun to shoot! It as tough getting some members of the band because I was in the same spot for the entire set but I think I managed to get some cool shots.
