The Screaming Females @ Riot Fest 2012, Williamsburg Park NY – 9.8.12

Screaming Females were second to last on the Riot Fest Brooklyn lineup and the crowd seemed to enjoy their set a lot, particularly Marissa Paternoster guitar playing. Read the review over at ReadJunk.com of the entire fest.

If you’re photographing the Screaming Females, you main focus is obviously on singer/guitarist Marissa Paternoster has she screams, wails about frantically, and jams on the guitar. I never photographed the band before but enjoyed it a lot since she’s so animated at times. Mike the bassist kind of just sat to the side and played and wasn’t moving around too much so I focused on Marissa.

Like the other sets, I changed the color settings around for these photos because they came out a little too gray/blue for the originals. From what I can remember, I shot 24-70mm f2.8 for the most part but might have used the 70-200mm f2.8 in the pit a little bit and outside of the pit as well.
