Beat Brigade @ Characters, NYC – 1.3.15
January 4, 2015 | Concert Photography
Beat Brigade are celebrating their 30th anniversary and played the Pete Porker/Pandemics show last night at Characters in NYC. You missed an awesome show!
I was happy to see Beat Brigade were apart of this show since I had to miss their set last month since the show was going on so late. This time I caught the whole set and really enjoyed it. Great band to see live and dance/take pictures of. Their drummer is insane on the drums and I tried to get a lot of shots of him. The guys had a special guest with them as well, guitarist Brien McVernon, who actually hails from the same city as Pete Porker in Australia.
I shot their set from the side by the mixer again and then tried to move around a little bit. It was tough with all the tables up front and the more than usual photographers being there. Towards the end, I just made my way towards the middle to get some better shots. Like the other set, I used the 24-70mm f2.8 lens a lot of the time and did a couple of shots with the 85mm f1.8 and 14-24mm f2.8 lens.
I also did a video of the last song in their set as well:
