Flogging Molly @ Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC – 3.2.10
March 13, 2010 | Concert Photography
I was sort of waiting to write up this latest blog post once my new site launched, but I’m still coding it and trying to get everything in order. So in the meantime, I might as well post something. Flogging Molly’s show was great and a lot to shoot. FM always deliver the goods when it comes to their live show, and I’m very happy with the photos I got.

Every time I shoot Flogging Molly, I always love their lighting. I don’t know if its their own lighting, or the venue’s lighting but either way I get good results. Usually I have a tough time of getting decent shots of all the members, so I have to concentrate on select members. When I shot the band during the Warped Tour last year, I got a bunch of cool shots of Matt, I didn’t really this time around. I didn’t get as many shots of Matt and Nate, mainly because the lighting wasn’t hitting them as much as the other band members. I thought I got some quality shots of Dave and Dennis. Dennis always gives photographers awesome guitar poses and jump shots. I wish I had the 14-24mm f2.8 lens for this show, his poses would have excelled even more. If you ever get the chance to shoot Flogging Molly in a venue, be sure to do that. You’ll be happy with your shots, like I was!
