Rancid @ The Bash Music & Craft Beer Festival, Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ – 6.2.19

Rancid played 4ish songs at The Bash Festival in Englishtown, NJ on June 2nd, 2019 due to severe thunderstorms. You can read my review at ReadJunk.com.

I was worried I wasn’t going to see Rancid because of the storm. I’m thankful we got 4 or 5 songs from them since I was able to shoot the band again. It’s been about 18 years since last seeing them so I was long overdue to see Rancid again. I ended up getting my best photos of them, with Tim Armstrong a jumping machine. I just knew everytime he was going to jump so I got a bunch of those. The lighting was great too. They were another band that was tough to get them all in the same shot. Even with a wide angle lens, it’s tough sometimes to get the entire band in a shot because of how they are spaced out.

I was fixated on Tim for the set for the most part, but would try to get shots of Matt and Lars as well. After the 3 songs, I was looking at my photos on my camera when the show was delayed/canceled so I booked it out of there. Just happy I didn’t have to use a bag over my camera or didn’t get stuck out in the downpours. I was happy to see Rancid though, just wish the set was obviously longer.
