Less Than Jake @ Playstation Theater, NYC – 2.17.17
February 28, 2017 | Concert Photography
Less Than Jake always deliver and still continue to be one of my favorite bands to see and photograph! You can read the full review of the show here.
3 songs is never enough to shoot LTJ. The lighting seemed to be have gotten better after the third song. The first two sets had flawless lighting, then Less than Jake played and the lighting wasn’t as good. The life of a music photographer, you have to make due with the conditions you are given.
For LTJ, the pit was packed but I’ve been in worse, a lot worse. There was a class of high school student learning how to do concert photography. Thankfully not all of them went in the pit at once and rotated out. Hey, I wish I took a concert photography class in high school. That’s pretty cool; you gotta start somewhere. I did ask one of them if they wanted to do this and he said no, he wanted to be a biologist haha.
After the third song, I snuck a few shots since Buddy was playing trombone with a freakin plastic bag on his head. He was joking around passing out afterwards but still, Howie Mandel would be impressed!
