Swingin’ Utters @ Stone Pony Summer Stage, Asbury Park, NJ – 8.15.15
August 21, 2015 | Concert Photography
Swingin’ Utters played after The Flatliners last week at The Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, NJ. Read my full review of the show over at ReadJunk.com.
Johnny Bonnel was in fine form for this set. Smacking his face, hitting his head with the mic, whipping the mic chord around the stage and other stuff. By the end of the set, his head was bleeding. That’s gotta hurt but it certainly made for some fun photographs. I was fixated on him for the most of the songs I shot the band for, which I guess isn’t uncommon to focus on the singer.
For this set, I shot with the 24-70mm f2.8 lens and the telephoto lens 70-200m f2.8. I didn’t use the 14-24mm f2.8 lens because I was just trying to capture stuff and didn’t want to miss any moments. I need to photograph Swingin’ Utters more often!
