Less Than Jake @ Starland Ballroom, Sayreville, NJ – 11.9.13

It’s been 4 years since last seeing & photographing Less Than Jake and they still continue to be one of my favorite bands to shoot.

Read the full review of the show over at ReadJunk.com. As I expected, it was chaotic in the pit for LTJ. Crowd surfers, the band moving around a lot, bouncers in your way but that’s what make shooting these shows fun because it’s a bit challenging. I saw that the band had confetti shooters on stage but sadly missed my chance to really capture that. I wish I knew when exactly they go off so I can capture that; sure it’s cheating but whatever.

Usually Chris makes some funny faces when I shoot the band in the past but he didn’t this time. Roger and Buddy were the most lively out of the band this time. I remembered to get some shots of Vinnie this time since sometimes I forget. His kit was light up nicely with some colorful lighting. If I had the luxury to shoot past the 3 songs in the pit, I would have gotten some more shots of the band and when they called up a bunch of guys to skank for them. Sometimes LTJ has a some zany things on stage but they kind of kept that to a minimum that night.
