Westbound Train @ Apple Stomp: Day 2, Irving Plaza, NYC – 6.1.13
June 6, 2013 | Concert Photography
Ska/rocksteady/soul/reggae/fun band Westbound Train were third in Day 2 of Apple Stomp at Irving Plaza and everybody got their groove on to their music.
For more extensive review of the Apple Stomp, read my reviews of Day 1 and Day 2.
It’s sometimes tricky shooting ska shows because either the band moves around a lot or there’s just a shitload of musicians. The later came into play for Westbound Train and it was tough to figure out who to photograph. I tried my best to get a shot of everyone. Another problem with so many band members is mic stands. It’s a pain trying to focus around them!
The lighting kind of crappy for the first two songs but was ideal for me in the third song. I felt I got my best shots in the third song when the lighting had yellows and greens.
