The Family Band @ Brooklyn Bowl, Brooklyn, NY – 3-30-11
April 16, 2011 | Concert Photography
I’ve never been to Brooklyn before, but that all changed when I was sent on assignment to shoot (photograph for the idiots out there) the female band Warpaint. The show was at Brooklyn Bowl and happened on March 30th. The opening band was The Family Band, from the area.
I honestly didn’t know who any of these bands were, but that didn’t mean I wasn’t into the show or anything. Even though I was suppose to take pictures of Warpaint, I decided to go early and check out the venue and shoot the opening bands. I didn’t know how the set up was for the bowling/ music venue. I decided to stay to the left, which was a decent spot for the most part. The club quickly filled up by the time the second band went on. The lighting for The Family Band was quite dark. The singer wanted the lights down even more then they were. They wanted these white lights that only shined on selective spots of the band members to be more prominent. It kind of made for a rough shoot, but not as band as Salem at Santos Party House.
