The Toasters (Ska is Dead Tour) @ Starland Ballroom, Sayreville, NJ – 11.15.09
November 25, 2009 | Concert Photography
The Toasters were the last band for the Ska is Dead Tour 4 at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. The only original member left is Bucket, while the other members are from various ska bands. Don’t let that bog you down because the Toasters still sound great!

It’s probably been over 10 years since I last took photos of the band. When I first took pictures of The Toasters, I was just learning concert photography and just shooting shows to shoot for shits and giggles. It was nice to finally get a chance to shoot some proper photos of the band. While the Toasters don’t have that many people in the band anymore, their overall sound still sounds the same. Bucky lives in Spain so not sure this is a permanent group or not.
Photography-wise, the band stood in their spots for the most part so I just tried to concentrate on each member. I wanted to get some shots of the drummer because the lighting was bright enough back there, plus he was doing some cool drum stick tricks. And also obviously concentrate on Bucket as well. The 18-70mm lens was the only lens I used during their set.
