
I’m trying to remember the last time I saw the The Scofflaws perform. It could have been at the Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY 10-13 years ago or it could have been at the Wetlands. I can’t remember. The Scofflaws played late last night at (Electric Avenue) Characters in NYC. It was a fun time for dancing, taking pictures and hanging out.

I originally wanted to go to the Scofflaws show at Electric Avenue at Characters on W 54st. Then hockey came back and I originally was just going to stay home and watch the Rangers game. I’m glad I decided to venture out after the game because I saw a great ska show! Better than the stinko performance from the NYR. The first ska show of 2013 and I hope many more! The opening band was The Bullbuckers from Delaware (from the state that sends me endless amounts of credit card mail). They were a fun band to see!

Back in the Fall, I reviewed an album on ReadJunk.com that I surprisingly enjoyed. That album was Waves Are Only Water by singer/songwriter Nick Gill. I’ve been listening to that album nonstop since then. I was hoping Nick would play New York City so I could see him live and he perhaps film him for BeforeTheConcert.com. Well I got the chance last night to see him perform live and to also perform a session before the concert.

Ariana and The Rose played a quick set at Rockwood Music Hall last night in New York City. They were there to promote their new EP “Love Me, Love Me Not” but they had to do it without their guitar player since he was stuck in traffic.

The Dunwells from Leeds, UK played a set before Alan Doyle and after Amy Helm Friday night. Their Americana (Britacana)/folk rock was nice to hear and I particularly loved their single “I Could Be A King.”
