
The opening band for the dada 20th anniversary show at Highline Ballroom was 7Horse. I didn’t know until after the fact that the 2 members (Phil Leavitt, Joie Calio) of 7Horse were also in dada, and this was their side band. I guess that explains an opening band performing for an hour. The band was a lot of fun and were an interesting band to photograph though!

After I got done filming Jerad Finck for an upcoming episode of Before The Concert, I caught his set at the Highline Ballroom on 16th Street. Jerad is from Washington and has a pop rock/singer/songwriter type of sound and I dug his set a lot. Usually he has a full band performing live but last night’s set was just Jerad. He played second and was opening for dada.

Yesterday the “Nemo” blizzard showed up and I decided to try out some more time lapse videos. I filmed several time lapse videos over the course of the afternoon and night from my apartment window, and I also filmed lots of clips from walking around my neighborhood in Jersey City.

Elevation! The Pilfers are back full-time, well most of the original members are back (Coolie, Nick and James). The band had to press on with touring without Anna and Vinny and those are some big shoes to fill but the new guys (Ben Basile and Billy Kottage) held up well. Pilfers still know how to put on one hell of a show!

Dan Potthast (of Mu330) has been playing solo for awhile now but this was the first time I saw him perform. I remember seeing Mu330 and Bruce Lee Band (Mike Park + Mu330) at Ska Against Racism years ago but that was it. I wanted to film a session with him for Before The Concert, but with the crappy weather it wasn’t meant to be. Maybe next time he’s in the NYC area.
