Some changes were made to the site. I got sick of looking at the Arial font so I switched it to Georgia. I’ve been reading lots of websites that use this font and like it a lot. Other change is I added my adorable picture in the sidebar. I know, exciting stuff!
I’m actually shooting a show next week and that’s NOFX at Irving Plaza in NYC. I’ve never really been a fan until I started to watch their FUSE TV series NOFX: Backstage Passport. Now, for some reason I can tolerate their music and enjoy it a lot. Only sucky thing is I’ll be missing the last Presidential Debate during that show. Thankfully I have DVR. Other than that, not much is going on. Just hanging low, trying to save up money to move (eventually) and only going to shows that are worthwhile.

Gaslight Anthem have been making some noise since their debut album ‘Sink or Swim.’ Now they have been attracting even more fans with their hot new release ‘The 59 Sound’ off Side One Dummy. I became a fan of the band with their EP release of ‘Senor and the Queen’ and I hadn’t seen them live until this show. I’ve heard great things about their live show and they certainly didn’t disappoint. If you like their new album, you have to make an effort to go out and see these guys perform!

Saw Gaslight Anthem last night at Cafe Metropolis in Wilkes-Berre (Berry), PA. The band was incredible and I highly recommend seeing them live. I took photos of all 4 bands (The Menzingers, Polar Bear Club, and American Steel), even though the photos are nothing special; I’ll have them up this weekend so be sure to come back Saturday or Sunday. Plus there will be a full review on ReadJunk.com.

In case you’re wondering, I’m still alive. Just haven’t been busy with concert photography or any photography really. However, I am going to two concerts this month. Stereophonics at Webster Hall and Gaslight Anthem at Wilkes-Barre, PA. I’ve been having a really rough time trying to find some sort of contact for Stereophonics. Their webmaster contacted me but then hasn’t gotten back to me. Anyone out there have a contact for them? I’d really like to shoot their show.

You might have noticed the lack of updates on the site lately. Since the Warped Tour in Scranton at the end of July, I haven’t gone to a show. That’s because I’m starting to cut back on shows, at least temporarily. It’s just too expensive going to all these shows where I currently live. Plus there are other factors as well.

Katy Perry became famous right as she started the The Vans Warped Tour. I had no idea who the hell she was until she started the tour. Her number 1 hit single “I Kissed the Girl” is the song of the summer and many people flocked to the Hurley.com stage to see her perform at the Warped Tour in Scranton, PA. I wanted to make sure to get some photos of her because she’s popular now, plus she’s not too bad on the eyes either.

The last time I saw The Aggrolites, they opened for the Dropkick Murphys at Tinks in Scranton, PA. I was supposed to have passes for that and Epitaph messed up. Thankfully The tour manager of the Dropkick Murphys got me into the show so I could see at least The Aggrolites. I was impressed with the band’s live show and they moved around so much for being a reggae band…well Dirty Reggae band.

Against Me was the first band I took photos of at this year’s Vans Warped Tour. Instead of going to Long Island or New Jersey to see the Warped Tour, I decided Scranton, PA was the best place to see it. The drive is a lot better for me where I live. I was at The Warped Tour last year here as well and thought it wasn’t too bad. I’ve seen Against Me a few times but never at the Warped Tour. I thought they did a good job.

I’ve been a fan of the Young Dubliners for 8 years but this was the only 2nd time of seeing them live. Bassist Brendan Holmes, who’s also a fellow photographer, hooked me up with passes for the evening so that was really nice of him. My girlfriend Kristen had a class in CT earlier in the day, so I had to travel to NYC via CT. Well, first had to go to Suffern where my twin brother lived then down to NYC. The doors opened at 6pm but the concert didn’t start til 8pm. We arrived at 7:30pm and we were shocked that there weren’t that many people there. The band hasn’t been to NYC in awhile so that surprised me. Tables were setup for eating and since I was really hungry, I had to get some food. The band came on around 8pm and rocked out regardless of the size of the crowd.
