I don’t normally post too many non-photo blogs on here (although I probably should). But I have to tell you all about a new album I reviewed on ReadJunk.com that everyone should check out. It’s from one of my favorite bands, The Levellers and its called Letters From The Underground. The album comes out August 12th in the UK; not sure when it comes out in the States though. All I know is that everyone needs to get it! Read the review after the jump:

I’ve been a fan of the Young Dubliners for 8 years but this was the only 2nd time of seeing them live. Bassist Brendan Holmes, who’s also a fellow photographer, hooked me up with passes for the evening so that was really nice of him. My girlfriend Kristen had a class in CT earlier in the day, so I had to travel to NYC via CT. Well, first had to go to Suffern where my twin brother lived then down to NYC. The doors opened at 6pm but the concert didn’t start til 8pm. We arrived at 7:30pm and we were shocked that there weren’t that many people there. The band hasn’t been to NYC in awhile so that surprised me. Tables were setup for eating and since I was really hungry, I had to get some food. The band came on around 8pm and rocked out regardless of the size of the crowd.

I was suppose to shoot the Dropkick Murphys last August in Scranton, PA but there was a problem with the list. Which was pretty much the case this time around again. But thankfully things got worked out in time for me to shoot the Bosstones and Dropkicks. The Dropkick Murphys have gotten super popular since the last time I shot their set. Their music has appeared in the movie The Departed and pretty much everyone knows who they are now. I remember seeing DKM back when there was 4 members in the band. Now the group has 7 or 8 members. It’s interesting to see how a band evolves over the years. But the band certainly draws in an audience and they still have a great live show to boot!
