It’s the final day of our vacation, and probably one of my favorite days on the trip. We booked a day tour through Bus Éireann and went to Powerscourt Gardens, Glendalough and Wicklow Mountains. If you get the chance to see any of this stuff, be sure to pick a nice day for it. We lucked out this day and got some beautiful, sunny weather before all the rain came later on.

Day 6 of our Dublin, Ireland vacation was spent in the seaside towns of Malahide and Howth. If you plan on spending any time in Dublin, I highly recommend spending a day or two outside the city and explore the seaside villages & towns. I particularly loved Howth and wish I spent the day there instead of just a half day.

Day 4 of my Dublin, Ireland vacation was a nice day filled with museums, galleries, churches and yes, even more walking! Kristen and I first went to the National Museum of Ireland, which was located by Merrion Square. It offered up a nice collection of ancient Celtic jewelry, clothing, shoes, and weapons. They had a great Viking exhibit there as well. I liked that part of the most because I just love seeing old weapons and swords, plus seeing cracked human skulls was pretty damn cool!

Day 2 of Dublin was a great day. Kristen and I got a lot accomplished after getting a night’s rest. We purchased a Dublin Pass for a day, which pays for a bunch of attractions and stuff in Dublin. It was well worth getting it if you plan on using it. We ended up going to the Dublin Zoo, Kilmainham Goal, Guinness Storehouse and St Patrick’s Cathedral.

I finally went to one of the places I always wanted to visit, Ireland! My girlfriend Kristen and I just got back from Dublin on Monday and I have over 2000 photos to go through. I’ll have seperate blog posts on each day I visited Ireland. These photos are from the first day, where we landed early in the morning. I didn’t get much sleep on the plane, maybe 15 minutes of sleep? But for some reason, I was functioning for most of the day. After we got our hotel room down in the Grand Canal Docks, we ended up walking around the city most of the day.

Last weekend, I was about to book a flight with my girlfriend down to Florida to see my parents again. I’m glad I didn’t (no offense Mom and Dad haha) because we found out that tickets to Dublin were cheap! Well as cheap as they have been. Kristen and I decided we should do it and go to Ireland. After all these years of wanting to go, I’m finally going! What’s even cooler? I’m seeing Shane MacGowan of the Pogues perform with Sharon Shannon as well! That show is on May 1st at Olympia Theatre by the way…

Are you interested in any photos from SkaPunkPhotos.com? Prints are available for most of my photography and the print sizes are located on the Buy Prints page. From time to time, I get requests from people that love my photography so I’d like to just remind people that the photography is available for purchase. Either buying a print or if you’re a magazine, band, website, etc; licenses are available as well.

Since I recently got a new remote (MC-36) for my D300, I decided to play around with time lapse photography and video for the first time. I had to do a bit of reading & research first. My D300 can do time lapse photography but figured it would be better to use the remote. A good video tutorial can be found here. If you got the right software and camera, time lapse photography can be a lot of fun!

Saturday December 20th was the day to act like a tourist for me. I never really went down to the city to see the usual sights like Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center, Macy’s on 34th street or take a stroll through a snowy Central Park. Matt’s new company that he works for offered a round trip bus ticket for 10 bucks to go to the city for the day. Since it was so cheap, Matt and his wife Michelle, my girlfriend Kristen and I all decided to go down for the day for sight seeing, shopping and food.
