Mustard Plug @ Bowery Electric, NYC – 11.17.18
November 21, 2018 | Concert Photography
Mustard Plug played at Bowery Electric on November 17th, 2018 and you can read my full review of the show at ReadJunk.com.
Can’t believe I’ve been photographing Mustard Plug for 20 years now. I started back in 1998 at New England Ska Fest, from the crowd but that still counts! The guys always put on a great show but they definitely riled up the crowd that night. I was in front for awhile until I couldn’t take the crowd surfing and beer spilling anymore. I didn’t want to get my camera wrecked in the process. I managed to still get a lot of cool shots from the front and then on the side when I wanted to get out of the way. Got some fun shots of Dave doing his Mr. Smiley thing and pretend-killing the crowd with a butchers knife. It seems like I can never capture that moment when he chomps at people. This year I was in a good spot.
Like the rest of the sets for this show, I used the 14-24mm and 24-70mm f2.8 lenses. ISO was around 3200, and I shot around 1/200-1/250. The lighting was great throughout the show and wasn’t too dark and at times, was just perfect.
