The Far East @ Brooklyn Steel, NY – 6.9.17
June 12, 2017 | Concert Photography
The Far East opened up for the Specials at Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn on June 9th, 2017. You can read my review of the show over at ReadJunk.com.
When I arrived at the venue, I had ticket and VIP but no photo pass so I had to wait 15 minutes or so. Thankfully the TM of the Specials cleared things up but that time cut into the time of the Far East’s first three songs. I was able to get in there during the first song so I was able to take a decent amount of photos. Honestly, the lighting was a tad dark for the first song anyway so no biggie. It got better when it turned blue.
I sat in the crowd after the three songs and took a few shots here and there. Maddie moves around more after the 3 songs so it’s always handy to take some shots afterwards, especially when they have JonnyGoFigure come out to sing with the band. For this set, I shot ISO 5000-6400 (grainy) and around 1/200th. I used my 24-70mm f.28 lens mostly but took 14-24mm f2.8 lens out for a half a song though.
