The Porkers @ Knitting Factory, Brooklyn, NY – 12.30.16
January 5, 2017 | Concert Photography
The Porkers have returned to the USA since 1999! Well, Pete played with the Pandemics 2 years ago at Characters, but this time it was the full band! You can read my full review over at ReadJunk.com.
The last time I saw the full band of the Porkers, it was at The Wetlands with Laurel Aitken in the summer of 1998. I have those photos and used to have them on the site, but have to re-scan them along with other decades of photos. Big project ahead of me, along with re-designing this out of date site. 20 years as a photographer, time for a change with the site!
It was tough shooting the Porkers because Pete was constantly on the move, plus it was dark in the front of the stage where he was. I had to really hold the camera tight to get something clear and in focus. I was shooting high ISO like around 4000 for their set because of that. Pete was great to shoot though, grabbing his buddies heads and humping them and posing for the camera. Let’s hope they come back to NY again soon!
