My favorite band The Levellers have returned to the USA after 13 years of avoiding us haha. I had the pleasure of seeing them two nights in NYC and took loads of photos. The first night was at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. Read my full review at ReadJunk.com.
Since there weren’t any photo pits for Music Hall of Williamsburg, I secured a spot up front for the show and took pictures for the entire night. It was the first time being at Music Hall and I liked the venue a lot, but the lighting was a bit dark there. Or maybe it was just for this show? I was shooting at least ISO 4000-5000 for the entire show, so the photos have some graininess to them.
Still, was happy to shoot the entire night and got some cool ones of the band. I didn’t want to move around since I was too busy singing along and dancing. I stuck with the 24-70mm f2.8 lens for the most part and for a song or two I used the 14-24mm f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8 lenses. Out of all the times I’ve shot the band over in London, these two shows, came out the best. I guess all my equipment is up to snuff and I somewhat know what I’m doing now when it comes to concert photography. I should know, I’ve been doing this for almost 20 years!
