The Specials @ Terminal 5, NYC – 9.9.16
September 15, 2016 | Concert Photography
The Specials returned to NYC after 3 years. They returned to Terminal 5, where they played back in 2010. you can read my full review at ReadJunk.com.
I’m happy with the photos I got this time around. The last time I shot the Specials at Terminal 5 was in 2010, my camera wasn’t up to par and I have better lenses now too. The lighting seemed brighter as well which is always helpful. There were some side lighting that helped light some of the members better than in the past.
I also got the chance to shoot some more up in the VIP section, sitting next to actor Clive Owen. Sadly, no photos of Clive. Not gonna take a picture of the man enjoying himself. Not one of those photographers.
For this set I used the 24-70mm f2.8 lens for a song, and then tried to quickly change to 14-24 and 70-200 lenses as well during the other two songs. I’ve said it before, wish I had another camera to switch off like that. Would save a lot of time but getting no money for photography just doesn’t justified the cost of it right now.
Anyway, I hope that wasn’t the last time I saw the Specials since they always put on such a fun show.
