Sammy Kay @ Irving Plaza, NYC – 12.19.15

The lighting for Sammy Kay’s set started out all red, which is a concert photographer worst nightmare. Well I guess no lighting and can’t use flash would be the worst nightmare. thankfully it got better for the other two songs.

For this set, I used the 24-70mm f2.8 lens and for a half a song used the 14-24mm f2.8 lens to get all of the band in the same shot. I shot at ISO 3200 and around 1/200th. At the end of the set, I shot with the 70-200mm f2.8 from the back of the club to get Sammy Kay singing with Vic of the Slackers.
