The Snails @ Irving Plaza, NYC – 12.19.15

I thought I’ve shot the Snails before but then I realized I never saw them play without Sammy Kay. They were fun to shoot, particular frontman Todd who gave great rock poses. The lighting at Irving Plaza was difficult at times, and okay at other times. It’s frustrating as a photographer when they use nothing but red for one song, and then do something nice and colorful the next. Oh well, whenever the color looks disgusting and muddled I turn the photo to black & white.

For this set, I used the 24-70mm f2.8 lens and for a song used the 14-24mm f2.8 lens to get all of the band in the same shot. I shot at ISO 3200 and around 1/200th.
