toyGuitar @ Stone Pony Summer Stage, Asbury Park, NJ – 8.15.15

toyGuitar opened up the Fat Wreck 25th anniversary show at Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, NJ. It’s been awhile since being back in Asbury Park and things have changed a lot it seems! The beach city doesn’t look like it got shelled from a war anymore, at least on the waterfront.

I haven’t been to the Summer Stage before but it was a nice setup. The photo pit was a little weird in that all the amps and speakers were in the pit so in a way, you had to use a telephoto lens just for being up close. There was a lot of people at the show in the beginning, and it was really bright out with the sun. Day concerts can be nice in that’s bright out, but also the shots can be a bit boring because the lighting is so bland. That’s how it seemed for the first 5 bands or so.

For this set, I switched frantically between my 3 lenses in 3 songs. the 14-24mm, 24-70mm, and 70-200mm to get a wide variety of shots. That’s pretty much it for this set.
