Matt Butler @ Highline Ballroom, NYC – 12.26.14
January 2, 2015 | Concert Photography
Matt Butler opened up the Willie Nile show last week at Highline Ballroom. His set was pretty good and you can read my review from the full show over at ReadJunk.com if you want.
Like with Willie’s set, I mainly shot this set with the 70-200mm f2.8 lens from my table in the back and from the side by the VIP area. I went to the back by the bathroom area as well since it’s a straight view. It was hard getting some shots of other members of the band but just had to be patient for them to come to the front. Like with Willie’s set, the lighting was excellent. Colorful back lighting and white front lighting, the way it’s supposed to be! Take note other NYC music venues!
