Radkey @ Best Buy Theater, NYC – 9.26.14

Radkey were a pleasant surprise and a fun band to shoot! Read my review over at ReadJunk.com of the show.

The three brothers from Missouri are still fairly young but man they were fun to watch and shoot. At first they kind of stood in place for a bit but by the end of the set they were playing guitars on their back and running all over the stage. Of course, the 3 song rule screwed me over in that aspect and couldn’t really shoot that. I still got some cool shots of the guys rocking out though. I thought they were spread out too much but that’s just because the stage was so huge. It was tough getting all 3 in the same shot.

The first song was too dark to get anything worthwhile but once the red lighting was brought it, it got better. It helped the front lighting was bright in that the photos weren’t just red. I think Best Buy Theater has one of the better lighting setups for NYC venues.

If you get a chance to photograph Radkey, be sure to do so because you’ll get some great shots!
