Jonny Two Bags @ Irving Plaza, NYC – 4.18.14
April 20, 2014 | Concert Photography
Jonny Two Bags opened up the Chuck Ragan/The White Buffalo show at Irving Plaza on April 18th. You might know him from his other little band, Social Distortion! For more on the show itself, head over to ReadJunk.com where I reviewed the show.
I missed the first song by Jonny and the band, since I was filming something with The White Buffalo in their dressing room. As the band was going, I was putting away all my equipment so I was trying to packed up as quickly as possible so I didn’t miss his set. I managed to shoot for about 2 songs though it was probably more like a song and a half. I still managed to capture enough to my liking. The lighting was really red for his set, which it always seems to be the case for openers at Irving Plaza.
Like most sets at Irving Plaza, I stuck with the 24-70mm f2.8 lens for the entire set. I decided to leave the heavy 70-200mm f2.8 lens home this show because it’s way too heavy with all my audio equipment. I brought the 85mm f1.8 and used that a little when I was out of the photo pit, on DX mode. It served me well so I might bring that to future shows at Irving Plaza.
