The Big Takeover @ Gramercy Theatre, NYC – 1.19.14
January 21, 2014 | Concert Photography
Upstate New York’s The Big Takeover played next and I really enjoyed their ska/reggae/Caribbean sound!
I reviewed the show over at ReadJunk.com, check it out there.
Just like the other sets, the lighting was a bit dark at times but still provided enough to get a few decent shots. I don’t really like to shoot at ISO 6400 because it’s grainy but thankfully it’s not too bad with the Nikon D800. With ska/reggae bands, it’s tough to get shots of everybody since there’s so many members. I tried to focus on the most energetic performers, which was their singer Nee Nee. She was bouncing all over the stage and had some good facial expressions when she sang. They were definitely a fun band to photograph and looking forward to seeing them more in the future.
