Mark U @ Gramercy Theatre, NYC – 1.19.14

Mark U, Coolie Ranx’s son, and his band opened up the Pilfers show at Gramercy Theatre on Sunday night. It’s kind of cool to be photographing his Father after all these years and now I get to photograph his son.

The lighting at Gramercy Theatre can be good but it also could be very dark. It’s usually pretty dark for openers. I was shooting around 1/125-1/200 and at ISO 6400 for most of the show. Sometimes it was too dark shooting at those speeds and had to try shooting slower shutter speeds. The results were mixed. I was still happy with some of the photos I got though. I took shots in the pit for 3 songs, and then took a few in the crowd.
