Jordan Klassen @ Bowery Electric, NYC – 10.9.13
October 13, 2013 | Concert Photography
After filming Jordan Klassen for an upcoming episode of Before the Concert, I caught his band’s set at Bowery Electric in NYC.
Jordan Klassen and band only played about 4 or 5 songs it seemed, since they were just opening the show. They played “Go To Me” and “The Horses Are Stuck,” which are my favorites off his new album Repentance. That album I’ve been listening to non-stop the last week! The band was great but kind of wished more people were there. I don’t even know if Jordan’s name was on the bill, because it wasn’t on the website. Not sure if there was a downstairs but the upstairs stage felt like it was in some back room, and people from the bar just looked on. I can’t picture myself being at a rowdy punk show there…unless there is a downstairs.
The photos didn’t come out the best, and I didn’t move from my spot near the stage. I used just the 24-70mm f2.8 lens since I didn’t have my telephoto with me. My bag was full from audio equipment and a monopod. I managed to get a decent video of Jordan playing “the Horses Are Stuck,” which you can see below:
