I never heard of Cory Chisel before but that’s okay because now I do! Cory and Adriel Harris (Cory Chisel and The Wandering Sons) headlined City Winery and played a set that was unpredictable considering they didn’t need to make a setlist. Cory stated that the first two rows usually just make up his setlist for him. Some artists are more accepting of that than others which makes Cory something special I suppose.
Like Trapper Schoepp, Cory hails from Wisconsin as well and has a singer/songwriter/Americana style about his music. I dig it! I’m going to have to look up his music and see how it compares to his live show.
For this set, it was pretty much the same as Trapper’s. I used the 70-200mm f2.8 lens and was around ISO 3200-4000 due to the low lighting. The blue lighting was obviously better than the red; I’ll take blue over red anyday. I wandered (no pun intended or maybe it was) around the venue to get some different angled shots. I love City Winery but sometimes it a bit difficult to get some shots up close. Or maybe I’m just too nice and didn’t want to bother the paying customers there to see the show. In any event, I’m happy with the shots I got for this show.
Prints in this set are available for purchase! You’ll certainly help me out if you bought a print or two! They make lovely gifts.
