Thumper @ Apple Stomp: Day 2, Irving Plaza, NYC – 6.1.13

Thumper has made their triumphant return and played on the second night of Apple Stomp. They were a fan favorite of the fest and I also had a fun time of shooting them as well.

I’ve seen Thumper a couple of times but never had the chance to photograph them before. I always remembered that the singer makes funny faces when he sings. He almost goes cross-eyed sometimes and it’s quite funny to me, but it also makes for some killer photos! I got a lot of shots of him because he just, stands out from the band. The lighting was decent for their set, and I mainly stuck with ISO 3200. Sometimes I went higher ISO for other bands but not for Thumper. I used my 24-70mm f2.8 lens and sometimes switched from full frame to DX mode to get a bit of zoom, that way I didn’t have to switch lenses.
