The Pietasters @ Apple Stomp: Day 2, Irving Plaza, NYC – 6.1.13
June 6, 2013 | Concert Photography
The last time I photographed The Pietasters, it was with my film camera and they played with the Pilfers at Irving Plaza. Any idea when that was exactly? Either way, it’s been a real long time! I can’t believe I haven’t seen the band this long but glad I got to finally take some real photos of them. I wanted to see the Pietasters again after this set, and my wishes have been answered since they are playing a free show at City Winery on July 2nd from 5-7:30pm. Guess I’m leaving work early for that one!
For more extensive review of the Apple Stomp, read my reviews of Day 1 and Day 2.
As soon as Steve Jackson came on stage, I knew it was going to be hard to get some crisp shots of him. He was stumbling around like he usually does, and never standing still for too long. I missed a chance of getting a shot of him tackling Toby the guitar player but I got a last second shot of him smacking Dave the bassist in the face. Its the little things like that, that makes me love the Pietasters and taking pictures of them!
