Fitz and the Tantrums @ Central Park SummerStage, NYC – 6.24.11

This post is a long time coming. But considering I got married on July 16th and then had the honeymoon in Paris, I guess you can say I’ve been quite busy! Fitz and the Tantrums played Central Park Summer Stage on June 24th, 2011 in New York City with Lee Fields and the Expressions. It was a free show so there was a lot of people out to enjoy some soul that day, including this photographer.

This was the first time seeing the soul band and what a set it was! Very fun music, and fun to shoot as well. Bandleader Michael Fitzpatrick and singer Noelle Scaggs are energetic and really know how to put on a great show! I had a blast taking pictures of the group and wish I had the entire set to snap away. It was hard to whittle down the photos since I liked so many photos I took. After the three songs, I shot from the side of the stage in the crowd with the 70-200mm f2.8. It was nice to shoot a show with my new lens 24-70mm f2.8, which I used most of the time in the photo pit. Fitz and the Tantrums are playing at Terminal 5 in November, which I hope to shoot again because the band are just a blast to shoot.
