2 Shows coming up

Sorry for lack of updates. I’ve been busy with launching the new ReadJunk.com, which you can visit at http://www.readjunk.com. Plus I just haven’t gone to any shows lately besides the English Beat/Bad Manners show. I do have 2 shows coming up next weekend and I can’t wait for that!

Next Friday, I’m seeing the Pogues for their annual St Patrick’s Day tour to the East Coast. That show is at Roseland and I hope I get better photos than last year. I didn’t have my D300 yet so maybe that will make up for the Pogues’ extremely dark lighting. The day after that, I’m shooting the Saw Doctors concert at Nokia Theater. It’s been awhile since I last saw the band. I think it was in London in 2006 at Shepherd Bush Empire. The band hooked me up with passes so hope I can deliver some good photos of that one too.

I was suppose to shoot Morrissey’s show at Bowery Ballroom or Webster Hall. BUT I declined after I was told I would have to sign a photo release. I didn’t think it would be worth it when I’m not getting paid for shooting the show, and then I would have to give up my copyrights to the photos. Perhaps if I didn’t know before hand, I would have signed it just to shoot the show and for making the trip down in the city. But I’d rather not shoot bands/artists if they are going to make me sign some photo release. I’d rather shoot smaller shows and get to OWN my photos. I wonder if the Moz would mind if I asked him to send over the raw files of music so I can use them for future use? Yeah didn’t think so…
