Against Me was the first band I took photos of at this year’s Vans Warped Tour. Instead of going to Long Island or New Jersey to see the Warped Tour, I decided Scranton, PA was the best place to see it. The drive is a lot better for me where I live. I was at The Warped Tour last year here as well and thought it wasn’t too bad. I’ve seen Against Me a few times but never at the Warped Tour. I thought they did a good job.

I’m not really a fan of Against Me but I don’t mind seeing them when they play. They have a really good live show with every band member singing/screaming along to the songs. The fans are usually really into it too. I think if Against Me played later on in the day, the fans would have gotten into their set more. Everyone just seemed to stand there. The one song that I remembered them playing was the song “Don’t Lose Touch.” The rest I’m not so sure what they played. They were one of the better bands of the day though.

Against Me was the first band I shot, so I was trying to figure out what lenses to use. It seemed like each Warped Tour stage was a different height, with a different setup. At the Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain, the security formed this unbreakable wall behind photographers. So you had very little room to maneuver around. Occasionaly, I would tap them on the shoulder to move and they would so it wasn’t that bad. For this set, I used the 70-200mm f2.8 lens and my wide angle kit lens 18-70mm f3.5. Since the band doesn’t jump around THAT much, I was using my telephoto more for this set. Here’s a few photos:
